Your conversations go to the services you choose. Context from other apps is shared only when you connect a source and send it.

Accounts and conversations

SwiftChat uses your configured AI providers. Provider credentials are stored in macOS Keychain. AIChat conversation records are stored locally; requests and attachments are sent to the selected provider. That provider’s terms and privacy policy govern its processing and retention.

ChatGPT sign-in and conversations run through the ChatGPT website inside WebKit. Website cookies and sign-in state are retained locally. The website owns its history; SwiftChat projects conversation-list metadata into its native sidebar. SwiftChat is not affiliated with OpenAI.

Work with Apps

With Accessibility permission, SwiftChat can read text exposed by supported applications you explicitly connect. You can preview the source and choose its scope. Sources are refreshed before sending. Captured context is sent to the selected AI service and may remain in conversation history. This can include sensitive text: review the selected source before sending.

Capture is read-only. SwiftChat does not type into or edit a connected app. If capture fails, submission stops and your draft remains available.

Browser

Websites opened in SwiftChat receive ordinary browser requests and may store cookies. Opening a page does not automatically send its contents to an AI service.

Updates and this website

The macOS updater checks the update feed on this website and downloads releases from GitHub. These requests disclose standard connection information, such as your IP address, to the hosting providers. Automatic update checks can be managed in the app’s settings.

This website uses no advertising or analytics scripts. GitHub Pages hosts the site and GitHub hosts downloads; their infrastructure may process ordinary access logs.

Support

GitHub issues are public. Do not include API keys, cookies, personal conversations, or source documents when reporting a problem. See Support for reporting guidance.
