SwiftChat is in alpha. If something breaks, a small, clear report helps us improve it.

Report an issue

Open an issue on GitHub with your SwiftChat version, macOS version, the affected feature, and steps to reproduce. Include the error shown by the app when possible.

Remove private text from screenshots and logs. Never share API keys, cookies, or account credentials.

Installing and updating

Download a published macOS release from GitHub Releases, extract it, and move SwiftChat to Applications. Future signed releases are delivered through the app’s updater. You can also choose Check for Updates from the SwiftChat menu.

Connecting a provider

Open Settings → Accounts & Services. Use your own credentials for a supported AI provider, or sign in through the ChatGPT website. Provider subscriptions and usage charges are separate from SwiftChat.

Work with Apps

Enable Accessibility access for SwiftChat in System Settings, then connect a supported running app from the composer. Focus the document or terminal buffer you want to share and preview its content. Only text exposed by that application’s Accessibility interface is available.

ChatGPT compatibility

ChatGPT Web is an unofficial integration and website changes may temporarily break it. Report compatibility errors with the app version and operation involved. The public adapter includes fixtures and protocol documentation.
